Hiccup cure? Kinda gross.

So today I had the hiccups for like two and a half hours today, and I'm having some theories about it.  I think that it's actually similar to vomiting.  I believe, (and I obviously didn't test this,) that if you vomit, hiccups will go away.  This is just an educated guest, but since hiccups are caused by the diaphragm having spasms, and you vomit when it violently contacts, that the spasms are just it trying to contract but not being irritated enough to do so.  If, the way I figure it, you vomit, the diaphragm won't be irritated anymore since the problems are gone.  Just a theory.  But when I had the hiccups today, I noticed I had some of the same symptoms as when I was about to vomit.  When you puke, you, basically, can't breathe as the diaphragm contracts and you throw up.  so when you hiccup, you temporarily can't breath and your stomach and diaphragm contract.  It continues to do so because the the stomach is irritated, but not irritated enough to vomit.  I don't know how accurate this could be, but tell me what you think.
